2020 Toyota C-HR fitted with new Modellista body kits

Toyota may have just unveiled the facelifted C-HR last week, but famous aftermarket tuner Modellista has already released two versions of bodykits to go with the updated crossover. Let’s start with the yellow C-HR.

As seen above, this model is dressed in the Boost Impulse aero kit which comprises a thick, mean front apron with integrated LED daytime running lights, bold side skirts with black highlights, as well as two aggressive-looking rear lips, one with dual rectangular exhaust exits, and the other with quad exhaust pipes.

Additional accessories can be opted as well, starting with the chrome radiator garnish, fender trim with chrome strip, mirror caps with a funky LED design, two rear spoiler designs, and huge 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and tyre set.

If that’s too over-the-top for you, then the Elegance Ice styling kit may be slightly more palatable. The aero kit comes with a more subdued-looking front lip with chrome highlights, side skirts, and rear skirts, but customers can opt to add more accessories such as the side door chrome garnish, chrome mirror cap garnish, chromed door handles, rectangular quad exhaust exits, and the same 19-inch dual-tone alloys.

To recap, the updated Toyota C-HR gets the mandatory visual changes by way of new headlights and tail lights design, but the big news is the addition of the new GR Sport variant.

In Japan, the C-HR GR Sport model is powered by the 8AR-FTS 1.2 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 115 PS and 185 Nm of torque, and it’s paired to a CVT. For the first time, a six-speed manual option with rev-matching is available, too.

Also available is the C-HR Hybrid which is powered by a 1.8 litre Atkinson-cycle engine and an electric motor, together delivering a combined 122 hp and a WLTP-rated fuel efficiency figure of up to 25.8 km per litre. The GR Sport variant is available with both engine choice, although the manual transmission is only exclusive to the 1.2 litre turbo mill.

The GR Sport models also get a centre floor brace to improve structural rigidity, as well as specially-tuned springs, dampers, anti-roll bar and steering for a more dynamic driving experience. So, anyone eyeing the body kits yet?
