London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone is set to expand on October 25, with thousands more drivers set to be included in the new area. Transport for London (TfL) have said nearly 10 million people have used its online checker to see whether they will need to pay the additional charge if they drive in the zone.
TfL has urged more drivers to use the tool to ensure they don’t end up with a charge or a fine after driving through London.
It is being extended to include all areas within the North and South Circular roads around central London, but not including those roads.
But some drivers have reacted angrily to the changes, calling on TfL to halt the expansion.
Twitter user, William Adoasi, said: “Why the heck aren’t we rioting about this ULEZ expansion? This is a joke.
“And it’s 24/7?!?
“People genuinely believe this Government’s full motivation is the pollution?
“People can’t see how this adversely impacts and disenfranchises the poorer Londoners?!?”
Another user, JP, said: “How will this affect a 2012 registered diesel which IS already a Euro 6?

“I personally would definitely refuse the fine on the grounds of it being registered before 2015.
“But where do I stand legally?”
A third commenter, Bryan, slammed the changes being made to the ULEZ.
They said: “The UK accounts for one percent of global emissions.
