It's a very happy Christmas for one David Brown Automotive customer!

Remember the Mini Remastered Oselli Edition? Course you do. The more focused, more powerful version of David Brown Automotive’s Mini Remastered has already become (in)famous for a six-figure asking price. Back when PH drove the car in May, DBA asserted that the regular one was selling well, and that the collectors who made up the bulk of their customers would be keen on the Oselli.

And here, a few months later, is some proof of that. Set for a life in Scandinavia, this is the first customer Oselli Edition. Announced to mark 60 years of Mini in 2019, another 59 Osellis will follow over the coming months. However, with 1,400 hours of work said to go into each one, it’s unlikely that a new Oselli will appear every day from the Silverstone factory.

Interestingly this Oselli is in four-seat spec; the prototypes seen thus far have been two-seaters to reflect its racier billing. This one also gets the grille number deleted (a wise move, we’d say) and pairs the Carbon Grey base colour with Heritage Green accents. The 60 Oselli customers have the choice of the grey or Old English White as a base colour, with the hand painted exterior stripes in the green, Competition Red or Royal Blue. That said, there’s probably a little more creativity permitted for those willing to pay more. All Osellis are powered by a 125hp version of the venerable A Series, said to be sufficient for 0-62mph in less than eight seconds.

David Brown commented: “We are enormously proud to have completed the first customer delivery of Mini Remastered, Oselli Edition…There is an outstanding orderbook for this limited-edition model, with customers from around the globe set to receive their bespoke car in the coming months. This is an exciting project for the brand, and we are delighted with the interest it has created from customers in every part of the world.” With this apparent level of demand, it would seem that DBA isn’t done with the Mini just yet – don’t be surprised if another development follows in 2022. How about a Clubman?
