MG could launch affordable EV in India in 3-4 years11/13/2019
According to a media report, MG is planning to launch an affordable electric vehicle (EV) in India in the next 3-4 years. The carmaker will also set up a battery assembly unit in the country within 2 years.
MG’s first electric vehicle in India will be the ZS EV that is scheduled to be launched early next year. It will be followed by the setting up of the battery assembly unit. MG has already committed to invest Rs. 5,000 crore in India by 2025. This does not include the investment that will be required to set up the battery unit.
MG has partnered with Fortum, Delta Electronics India and eChargeBays to set up charging points at customers’ residences, dealerships and public places.
